About Me

 

This came to an end after 12.5 years of service when I was laid off.

While serving in the various capacities at this company I worked with other companies as well that allowed me to pursue personal interests.

For several years I was Director of Operations for Video Game Scoreboard, a website for video game high score verification as well as a scoreboard to keep track of high scores and attempts and live event verification services. We also post news, write reviews, cover events, do interviews and more. In this capacity I handled hiring reporters, writing, editing and posting articles and verification of scores while being the face of the company at multiple gaming events.

I have written for several blogs and video-game fansites, some of which I solely maintain.

I’m a widowed mother to a 21-year-old.

My skill sets

I am highly skilled when it comes to setting up websites in WordPress as well as using other content management systems. While my preference is WordPress, I have no issues learning a different system to accommodate a client’s needs. I am knowledgeable in HTML and some CMS and am comfortable playing with templates to design what you need.

 

 

I have assisted many individuals with Search Engine Optimization for their site, often getting them to the first page, if not the first search result on Google and Bing in a short amount of time.

I have the ability to create custom templates for WordPress through Artisteer but much prefer to stick with pre-designed templates.

I am skilled at writing marketing pieces, press releases, social media posts, SEO articles, technical pieces as well as tutorials for how to do certain things.

I am knowledgeable when it comes to social media and am familiar with Hootsuite and other programs used to schedule and interact with audiences. If you are looking for someone to help with maintaining your social media and keeping your presence active, I’m the person for you.

I can edit, though editing is not my preferred line of work. If you need editing work done, please let me know and I can see what I can do for you.

I can do limited design work through Photoshop and InDesign. These are skills I am working to improve upon as time allows. If you need promotion material for books, social media, etc., please let me know and I will see what I can do for you at a reasonable rate.
