On One Hand: It Could Be Better
According to TopTenREVIEWS, CyberDefender is designed to protect your computer from a number of malicious software types, but not all. The biggest pro to the program is it’s anti-phishing earlySCAM system which blocks phishing websites so you don’t lose your personal information.
On the Other: You Get What You Pay For
According to CNet Download.com users, CyberDefender detects spyware and malware for free, but charges you to remove it. Most say that even after purchasing the full version of the software, the spyware wasn’t removed. According to TopTenREVIEWS, the capabilities of CyberDefender do not come close to the capabilities of the top anti-virus programs available, and it leaves vulnerabilities for spyware and malware to get on your computer.
Bottom Line
While most review sites praise CyberDefender for offering a free to low-cost product, it is limited in its capabilities and is not as dependable as other anti-virus and malware removal programs available. Look for a better free program; there are many to choose from.
